What is a Music Café?
A Music Café is first and foremost a provision of local support to people living with dementia, their loved ones and their carers. Using the proven powers of music, our Music Cafés provide a safe and joyous space for those with dementia to find new ways of communication, connection and enhanced wellbeing. You can learn more about our Music Cafés by following this link.

Can I just turn up to a Music Café, or do I have to register first?
Please contact your local Music Café to let them know you are coming. Different community groups will have different policies and may operate as a drop-in service.

How can I get a Music Café in my area?
If you can’t see that we are currently operating a Music Café or any events in your area and you would like to request one, use the form on our contact page to get in touch. We are always on the lookout for new locations and communities who may be interested in Music in Mind and our Music Champions programme.

Can I volunteer at a Music Café?
Yes. Our Music Cafés are run by a combination of professional musicians and music therapists and our Music Champions. Music Champions are an inspiring group of people including professional carers, community group leaders and volunteers who actively provide dementia support in their local area.
