Our Impact
Academic research is a vital part of Music in Mind and allows us to stay at the cutting edge of music and dementia-based therapy. Our 10+ year research partnership with the University of Manchester has led to Studentships being awarded by the Economic and Social Research Council, and funding from the National Institute of Health and Care Reseach and UK Research and Innovation.
Our work also features in significant national research and lobbying papers including the UK Music and Music for Dementia Power of Music Report and The National Centre for Creative Health and All-Party Parliamentary Group Creative Health Reviews.
With creativity at the heart of what we do, we strive to evaluate our work in inventive ways, measuring the impact of Music in Mind on the wellbeing of our participants. These findings give us a better insight into the power of our work, enabling us to support out Music Champions and participants embedded in our work.
